A Most Amazing Discovery

DENVER IS A STATE!

Okay, you're probably thinking, what is this fille babbling about? Of course Denver is a state!

But, to be perfectly honest, when it comes to geography, I am tres stupide. So, I wasn't really sure if Denver was a state a city, or what. It never really....well, I never really thought about it.

Okay, if you're like, come on, you can't be that bad, listen to this. I just recently discovered that Andhra Pradesh was a country and that Las Vegas was in Nevada. Really. I thought it was like in Arizona or something. That's how sad it is.

Well, now I know two of the fifty states of America. Just kidding. I know more than that. Maybe....er.....twelve? *cough*

Er... if you will excuse me, I think...I think I need to look at une carte.

UPDATE: Um, I was actually right the first time. Denver is a city. So now you know how completely stupid I am. :D

These Kinds of Days

These kinds of days are the kinds when you curl up in a nice, thick sweater and type a blog post. These kinds of days are the kinds when you're glad for the fog and raindrops falling.
These kinds of days are the kinds when falling asleep is so easy.
These kinds of days are the kinds when snuggling in a blanket by the window isn't a waste of time.
These kinds of days are the kinds that make you wish you could have spent the day like this.
These kinds of days are the kinds that make you stop and think.

I love these kinds of days.

Happy Bunny!

"The boring awards called. You won!"

No, I'm not saying that. I'm just quoting the amazing Happy Bunny! Welcome to the first of my obsession posts! Yup, I finally got around to it. Amazing, hmm?

First of all: Who is Happy Bunny? If you haven't even heard the words "happy" and "bunny" I understand. They are very advanced and complicated words only the brightest can truly and fully understand them. I am slightly confounded by them, too. But, in all seriousness, Happy Bunny is a comedic and sarcastic cartoon bunny created by Jim Benton. He is not, er, the nicest bunny around, really, but he is extremely lovable.

Here are some examples of the phrases that escape Happy Bunny's mouth:
"It's cute how you think I'm listening."
"It's all about me. Deal with it."
"Hey, you made me throw up a little."
"Make the stupid people shut up." (I just feel bad writing that one!)
"It worries me how dumb you are."
"Give me your number...like I'd ever call you."
"I have a dream, and in it, something eats you."
"Your anger makes me happy."
"I fear nothing....but soap."
"I'm not ignoring you. I'm just listening to my fingers."

Pleasant, huh? I usually loathe when people say mean things like that, but with Happy Bunny, it's sort of endearing. Yes, I know I sound crazy, but I adore the little guy.

So, what are your obsessions? Let me know in the comments. :)

The Help

Hello! November here, stealing Cat's lovely idea about a book review. Well-not quite a book review. Just...telling you about my latest book.

It's called "The Help". I'm sure that many of you have heard of this, because there was a movie released recently with the same title, based on the bestselling book by Kathryn Stockett. It is a book about a writer during the 1960s who "decides to write a book detailing the African American Maid's point of view on the White families they work for, and their hardships they go through on a day to day basis."

I'm not very far in, but it's great so far. I can't believe that Kathryn Stockett had to go through sixty rejections. Sure, rejections are part of getting published and fixing the writing up, but sixty? W-O-W.

I don't think it's going to be the kind of exciting book I normally like to engage in, with crazy trips to Iceland and long lost mythological gods, but it's a nice change. I'd recommend it to anyone, but it's very mild mannered. If you've no patience with mild mannered books, skip "The Help".

Random fact: J.K. Rowling went through twelve agents before getting Harry Potter published. Crazy, I know!

Inner Thoughts

Hmm....what shall I post?

I should probably get started on the obsessions, but I have no idea which one to start on. Plus, dinner's almost done and I may not be able to write as much as I would like. I mean, I could have a LOT to talk about Mr- er....some stuff. So, I'll do that later, I suppose.

Maybe I should write a piece of literature. Of course not some stuffy essay on the government. Maybe a creepy poem, like the Jester. If I don't have time, I could even just post the Jester. Unfortunately, I can't open that on the Mac, since it doesn't have windows like the other computers. And I still have trouble copying in pasting on Blogger. Boo.

Ooh, Cat, you could write about a book you're reading. You love to talk about books! Again, that would possibly take some time, so I will definitely consider that for later.

Ugh! I haven't written anything in FOREVER, like a week. Maybe I should do something corresponding with my horoscopes. You always look at your horoscope. But-today it just talks about some love life thing, which I am so not interested in.

I could mention this awesome site I found with scary accurate things about people. Plus, I found out I have the same birthday of a famous rapper, tee hee. (Snoop Dogg)

Well, the site is www.paulsadowski.com. So, even though I can't decide what to talk about, I can at least give you that.

Oh, and maybe I should tell you I'm quite excited, because my birthday is coming up soon. Pretty happy about that, although I usually don't do anything special. I feel guilty if people spend money on me or are forced to go to a fancy restaurant or something for me. Odd as it is, I would feel the least guilty if I didn't get any presents. At all. Huh, isn't that something. No presents. (wink, wink Misery and November)

Well, I'm going to go now. Enough of writing down my thoughts. I'll go finish my cinnamon roll before dinner....yum....

Obsessions

Bonjour, mes amis! Today I will introduce my Obsession posts. You see, I am a very, er, emotional type of person. So, I have strong feelings about many things. Some are positive, and some...not so much.

These posts will be about the various things I am in love with. Every time I will ask you to post some kind of obsession in the comments. If I get enough obsessions, then, when all of my obsessions are done (which may or may not take a while), I will make a poem of unknown lenght, or maybe a histoire incroyable to amaze you all. Which ever one I choose, it will be about (you guessed it!) obsessions. I will try to include as many of your obsessions as possible. Doesn't it sound like fun.

Today I won't post any of my obsessions. I don't want to freak you out right after I meet you. I am truly, very in love with many things.

Vous voir la prochaine fois!

P.S. Did you look at the bottom of the page. Since I realized Misery has a problem with my, um, girly-ness, I found a way to express my self at the very bottom. And of course, there are two more sections for the other fabulous authors! :)

and then there was the gloom cloud

Hrm. Well, I can't really think of anything to say.

I'm Misery, and I used to be called something else, just like everyone else, but that's part of my past, boys. Anyway, I'm going to be posting just like my friends, November and Cat, but instead of being as colorful and happy of them, I'm more of a virtual Eeyore. Or a virtual Joker. I'm a strange person and I like strange things.

So what's my purpose here? Hrm. I'm going to be a regular poster. I might be able to revamp the happy pink mood that's going on around this blog into something more... morose. But that would upset Cat and November, so p'raps just something less pink and more spiffy, then. And I label things. Cat and November don't. But I do. I'm a labeler.

I'll see you all, this coming fall, in the Big Rock Candy Mountains.

Hey Y'all!

Yeah, that was my super-lame attempt at being Southern. Sorry for embarrassing all of you lovely Southerners out there. Okay, let's get down to business.

My name is November. Like Cat used to be called Pinky, I went by the name Cafina, until I decided November suited me better. I am...well, me. It's kind of hard to narrow a person down in a couple of sentences, so I'm sure you'll learn more about me through the things I post.

Iskemara! It's going to be amazing, I can assure you that. I'm super excited to be working once again with my awesome friends, Cat, and another person you'll meet soon.

That's pretty much all. Thank you for visiting Iskemara, and I hope to see you again soon!

Welcome!

Hey there!

Welcome to Iskemara, the blog about...well, pretty much anything interesting and exciting my friends and I come up with! My name is Cat. I was formerly known as Pinky, but, isn't that just so...common? So now I'm Cat. Hi!

So, Iskemara. It stands for Igloo and Sand Kites Eat Monkeys Around Rainforests of America. Yup. Totally. Maybe. Not really. Okay, that's definitely not what it means. So what does it really stand for? I'll leave it up for you to figure it out.

This is Iskemara. A blog. I hope you'll stick around and see all the awesome stuff that will be written by me and a couple of people you'll probably meet soon. I know you'll love it all!

See ya!
